Students and staff at Anthony Gell School are celebrating another bumper set of exam results this morning. The school was open from 8am to allow students and their families to access their results and the expert advice provided by staff on site.

As usual, most students from AGS are opting to now further their studies at Universities, with others electing apprenticeships, employment or travelling.

Staff were particularly pleased to see high numbers of students excelling and achieving grades which have secured their places on a range of exciting pathways. Lots of students from AGS will be starting a broad range of courses in Universities far and wide this Autumn. Courses and Universities including: Geography at the University of Cambridge, Psychology at the University of Bristol, Politics and International Relations at the University of Manchester, Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, Ecology at Aberystwyth University, and Popular Music at Leeds Conservatoire.

Others will be embarking on higher level apprenticeships with a range of companies including Rolls Royce in Derby.

Excellent grades were gained in all subjects, with students particularly excelling in French, Physics, Health and Social Care, Computing, Chemistry and Geography.

Headteacher, Malcolm Kelly, gave the following comment:

“I am once again delighted to see AGS students do themselves proud and excel in so many different subjects. This is a very talented group of young people who have great futures ahead. They will add value to wherever they go next and further develop their considerable talents. We wish them well for the future and would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for the positive contribution they have made to our school during their time with us. They have been, and will continue to be, an extraordinary group of young people. I would also like to thank the staff and the other adults who have played a part in helping these young people to achieve so much, by providing the individualised and essential support with such skill, sensitivity and understanding.”
