Our school is part of the Embark Federation – we are required to publish our own admission arrangements.
EMBARK School Admissions Arrangements 24 25
Our admission applications are managed through the Derbyshire Co-ordinated admissions scheme and in line with the Derbyshire Admissions arrangements. Anthony Gell has a Pupil Admission number of 134. We have a separate policy for our Sixth Form provision. Individual students who have a statement of special educational needs or an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) which names the school will be admitted.
Parents of Year 6 students will be contacted during early September through their current school on the process for secondary school applications. It is vital that parents adhere to the deadline date for completion of their application. If an application is submitted after this date, a place at Anthony Gell School is not guaranteed, even if you live in the School’s ‘normal area’, and the applicant may need to go through the appeals process.
Derbyshire County Council School Admissions
For students moving into the area, parents first need to contact the Admissions Office at Derbyshire County Council on 01629 537470, who will send out an application pack, or log onto the DCC website link for instructions on how to apply online.
