Years 7, 8 and 9
The full range of National Curriculum subjects is taught to all students. They all study English, Mathematics, two Foreign Languages (French and German), the Creative Arts (including Music, Art and Drama), Technology (including Food Technology, Craft and Design, Textiles and Information Technology), Physical Education, Dance, Science, History and Geography. Additionally, all students study Religious Education and follow a course in Personal and Social Education.

Years 10 and 11
In line with National Curriculum objectives, we encourage all students to maintain a broad base of study. Continued study within the fields of English, Mathematics, Science, Personal, Social and Religious Education, Information Technology, and Physical Education, is compulsory for all students. They can then choose additional subjects in the fields of the Creative Arts, Humanities, Technology, Modern Foreign Languages and Sport. We also include a range of vocational course. We expect all students to follow these courses through to formal assessment (normally by means of the General Certificate of Secondary Education - GCSE or the more recent Applied GCSE) at 16.
We reject, as alien to the philosophy of comprehensive education, the notion that there should be
non exam groups within a school such as Anthony Gell. All students have access to at least 10 GCSE examinations through the normal curriculum.
