Bugsy Malone
25/11/2009

Bugsy Malone is Anthony Gell School's latest production and is looking to be one of its biggest yet, with a huge cast of over 40, plus a backstage crew, sound, lighting and not to mention all the teachers that are involved behind the scenes. Bugsy Malone is a musical set in a fictional 1920s Chicago. It is the first musical the school has taken on for 6 years, so it will definitely put its actors to the test. It promises to be a great night out for everyone, complete with wisecracking American gangsters and slightly unconventional gang fights where guns have been traded for custard pies!

However, this play does not end at the stage, the entire hall is going to be transformed into a 1950’s speak-easy club and the audience is encouraged to come along in full costume to sit at tables complete with waitresses. If you sit on the front row though make sure you don’t mind getting messy as there could be the odd stray custard pie and almost certainly silly string! Miss Hampton who is directing says “Bugsy Malone is a really fun and feel-good play that anyone can enjoy”, it is obvious that this is a night that no one will want to miss.

Bugsy Malone is showing on the 8th, 9th and 10th of December and tickets ( £5 Full £4 Concessions £15 Family Ticket ( 2 Full 2 Concessions) ) can be bought from the school. Don’t forget your Trilby!
