Year 9 trip to Twycross Zoo

Anthony Gell School student Luke Sayles ( 15 ) from Crich was one of the young people who received Derbyshire County Councils' Young Achievers Award for 2008. The award recognised Luke's sporting achievements , as he clinched three medals in table tennis, basketball and fencing at a national competition- remarkable in itself, but more so perhaps because Luke has cerebral palsy and does his sport in a wheelchair
Ellen MacArthur paid an a impromptu visit to her old school last week. In the area visiting her family, she called in at Anthony Gell for an informal chat with Headteacher, David Baker and then spent half an hour in the school library with a surprised group of sixth-formers.
Staff, students and governors at Anthony Gell School are celebrating the outcome of their recent Ofsted inspection which took place on 11th and 12th March 2009.
National Science and Engineering Week 2009 certainly went out with a bang at Anthony Gell School, as students donned earplugs and goggles for an Explosives Demonstration by Science teacher, Marcus Wesley, ably assisted by sixth-formers Matt Griffiths and Joe Bowler.
An evening of inspirational short films of extreme sports featuring climbing, mountain biking, skiing, snow boarding,skateboarding and moutaineering
